En septiembre de 2023 Cartagena será sede del primer Congreso Latinoamericano de Distritos Energéticos.
En el marco del proyecto Distritos Térmicos en Colombia- Fase II, se realizará el Congreso Latinoamericano de Distritos Energéticos, un evento que buscará generar espacios de diálogo e intercambio entre los diferentes actores del sector de energía térmica para posicionar y resaltarlos como una alternativa para la sostenibilidad ambiental y la transición energética en los países de Latinoamérica.
Este será el primer congreso de la región, dirigido a instituciones del gobierno local y nacional, y la gran industria que cuenta con energía residual o con la necesidad de energía térmica para sus procesos, y en el cual se espera una asistencia presencial de cerca de 300 personas.
El congreso se organizará en conjunto con el Centro de Investigación y Desarrollo de Acondicionamiento de Aire y Refrigeración-CIDARE- adscrito a ACAIRE, un aliado fundamental del proyecto en la sostenibilidad del conocimiento de los distritos térmicos.
Así mismo, contará con el apoyo de la International District Energy Association-IDEA, agencia que trabaja desde hace más de 100 años en la provisión sostenible y eficiente de energía a través de distritos térmicos de frío y calor, y cuenta con más de 2.400 miembros de más de 25 países.

The first Latin-American Conference in Energy Districts will be in Cartagena
In September 2023, Cartagena will host the first “District Energy LATAM Conference”
As part of the project “District Energy in Colombia- Phase 2”, Cartagena will be the host city of the District Energy LATAM Conference in 2023. An event that will create opportunities for dialogue and exchange between the different actors of the thermal energy sector to promote and highlight Energy Districts as an alternative for environmental sustainability and energy transition in Latin-American countries.
This will be the first conference of the region and will be aimed at around 300 actors of local and national government institutions, and the large industry that uses residual energy or needs thermal energy in their processes.
The event will be organized alongside the Center for Investigation and Development of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration -CIDARE for its initials in Spanish-, affiliated to ACAIRE, a fundamental counterpart of the project in the sustainability of knowledge around energy districts.
Likewise, the conference will have the support of the International District Energy Association- IDEA-, an agency that has worked for more than 100 years in the sustainable and efficient provision of energy through heating and cooling districts, and has over 2.400 members in more than 25 countries.
